Workshop on Selection of Turkey's 100 Most Important Geological Heritage and Key Geological Sites for National and International Visibility
14 Mart 2024Our Chairman represented our Association at the "Workshop on the Selection of Turkey's 100 Most Important Geological Heritage Sites and Key Geological Sites for National and International Visibility" organized by the UNESCO National Commission for Turkey, General Directorate for the Protection of Natural Assets, MTA, Chamber of Geological Engineers and Geological Heritage Conservation Association on March 14, 2024 at the MTA Sadrettin Alpan Hall. The participants made 25 suggestions from the list of 157 Geological Heritage (geosites) and 5 suggestions from the list of 31 Key Geological Sites, and new suggestions were also accepted. At the International Symposium on Post-Mining Activities, the caves "Gökgöl, Cumayanı, Sofular", which are within the scope of Zonguldak Coal Geopark, which is our supporter, and "Kurum Valley and Karaca Cave", which are within the scope of Gümüşhane University Mining Specialization Coordinatorship, which is our cooperation protocol, attracted our attention. We are eagerly waiting for the results.
