Risk Management Symposium

Today, risk management is an interdisciplinary concept and is used by many different functions. In terms of occupational health and safety, since the main purpose is to protect the employee, it is thought that if we eliminate or control the hazards in the working environment, an ecosystem without health and safety risks will be created. For this reason; Risk Management Association, our partner in our activities on OHS, organized the second Risk Management Symposium with the slogan “Journey to Zero Risk” at Başkent University Bağlıca Campus Prof. Dr. İhsan DOĞRAMACI Conference Hall in Ankara on 16-17 November 2024.

Organized by Symposium Executive Committee members Nadide Ülgen GÖKKAYA and Dr. Murat OCAKTAN, the symposium started with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Alp ERGÖR, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Risk Management Association (RİSKYÖN). Nearly 30 presentations on OHS and Risk Management were made in 10 sessions over two days. Session titles are as follows: Behavioral Change for the Journey to Zero Risk, OHS in the Digitalized Working World: Is Digitalization an Opportunity or a Threat?, How Should Occupational Health be Managed for Zero Risk Journey, Zero Risk Journey in OHS Law, Zero Risk Journey Papers, OHS Training for Zero Risk Journey, Zero Risk Journey with its Environmental Dimension, Zero Risk Journey in Local Governments, Fire and Process Safety and Zero Risk Journey Papers.

The presentations covered OHS Training, Good Practice Examples, Fire, practices of Ankara and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipalities on the subject, risk management in public, private sector, gastronomy, search and rescue, logistics, agriculture, restoration, metal sector, etc.
