INTERNATIONAL NETWORK TO ACCLIMATIZE POST-MINING TERRITORIES
While the evaluation process of the EU COST ACTION project, which they applied for in October 2022, was progressing in Brussels, the Paris-based Association "Post-Mining Network "Acclimatize Post-mining Territories" was established on the project subject upon the proposal of the project application partners.
The Founding General Assembly of the Association was held on October 24, 2022, under the chairmanship of Ms. Beatrice MARIOLLE and the autoritating secretariat of Ms. Margarita DEKINA, with headquarters at "Mission Bassin Minier, Carreau de Fosse, 9-9bis rue du Tordoir BP16, 62590 Oignies 62590". The annual membership fee was determined as 30 Euros for founding members and 50 Euros for other members.
Dr. Metin AKTAN and Halim DEMİRKAN represent the Mining Engineers Professional Development Association, which is a founding member of the association, before the new association. 25 representatives from 14 institutions participated in the General Assembly. Among the founders of the Association are; French Post Mining Authority (ENSA), Mining Basin Mission, Artois University, University of Seville in Spain, UMONS University in Belgium, AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland, University of Foloransa in Italy (UNIFI), Swiss Union of Solidarity Zones and Kuntucky University in USA.
According to French law, the Board of Directors, in which all founding members have voting rights, is composed of the following nine members. MARIOLLE Béatrice, (architect, researcher), ALESSANDRI Raphaël, (architect and urban planner), RADTKE Rebekah, (artist), LAFFONT Georges-Henry, (lecturer, researcher), FESSARD Martin (architect), PAGNIER Mélusine (architect), FIGUEROA Johans, (architect and urban planner), OLDHAM Ruth (architect, teacher), SUCALA Cristina-Lucia (architect).
The association will use French and English as the language of communication, or a combination of both. It will carry out its activities in France, in the other member states, in the countries of the European Union and in all other countries where English is used.
The purpose of the association is stated in its statute as follows: To create an international network of partners, in particular within universities, research institutions, regional and local authorities, cultural institutions, associations and foundations, cultural institutions, associations and foundations, as well as other private organizations and communities of practice, in order to promote and document research and action on post-mining activities, both in terms of knowledge transfer and experience pooling with regard to the diversity of post-mining activities in France, Europe and abroad. The network deals with various aspects of mining regions, transitional mining regions and post-mining regions, especially in relation to architecture, urban planning, design, landscape, socio-economics, culture and heritage.
