Nordic Sustainable Mining Turkey 2024 (Sweden) Meeting - The meeting, which was held on May 28, 2024 at the Embassy Residence, was hosted by Her Excellency Ms. Malena Mård, Ambassador of Sweden, with the participation of leading companies in the mining sector and companies working in the mining sector from Sweden and Finland, where sustainability and new technologies in the mining sector were discussed with remote and face-to-face presentations. The meeting opened with the speech of the Ambassador and continued with the speeches of Mr. Mattias Lindgren, Director of Poland, Romania, Sweden Trade Association in Turkey and Ms. Joona Selin, Trade Attaché of Finland.
Mr. Lawrence Hooey, Sweden Mining Technology and Innovation Manager, presented the developments in the Swedish Mining sector with remote participation. This presentation was followed by a presentation titled "Sustainability and Digitalization in Turkish Mining" by Mr. Barış ERDEM, Secretary General of TMD.
On the financing of mining, Ms. Inna Kasperovic (EKN-Swedish Export Credit Agency) and Kari P. Korhonen (Finnvera) provided information via remote participation.
The main participants from Turkey were Turkish Miners Association, Mining Engineers Professional Development Association, Demirexport, Egemaden, Lidya Madencilik, Nokia, EPSE, Sandvik, ASCENDUM, SKF, VOLVO and EPIROC from Sweden and Finland.
